Percy Wayne Nettles

Funeral Services for Percy Wayne Nettles, 79 of Gilbert, LA., will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA., with Bro. T. J. Boyd, and Bro. Leland Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Nettles Cemetery in Wilkinson County, MS., under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA.

Mr. Nettles was a loyal patriot that served in the United States Army. After 25 years of employment, Percy retired from Armstrong Rubber Co. in Natchez. He enjoyed trucking all across the U.S.A. After his retirement he slowed down a bit and is well known for working in the sporting goods section in Walmart of Winnsboro. He was passionate about hunting and fishing, and people drove from miles around just to have Percy wait on them. He took pride in all jobs, including being a devoted father, husband, and sibling. He was happily married for 55 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Millard Sr. and Hattie Nettles, sisters Siggie Van Vlymen and husband George, Louise Wisner and husband J.G., brothers Roy Nettles and Cecil Nettles, sister-in-law Mae Nettles, nieces Joyce Van Vlymen, Tammy Nettles and Marlena Smith.

He is survived by his wife Lili Boyd Nettles, three children Charlotte Kelly and husband Buddy, Clay Nettles and friend Michelle Randall, Nancy Moroni and husband John “Bird”, grandchildren Amanda Middleton and husband Daniel, Blake Kelly, Montana Adkinson and husband Daniel, Luke Moroni, Chad Nettles and wife Hope, four great-grandchildren Isabella, Keithen, Hailey, and Kaleb, brother M.D. Nettles Jr. and wife Jo, sister Sandra Nettles and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Pallbearers are Bill Nettles, Everette Roberts, Gene Barnes, Chad Nettles, Luke Moroni, Daniel Adkinson and honorary pallbearer Blake Kelly.

Special thanks to staff at Plantation Oaks as well as Hospice TLC., and Sandra Nettles.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27th at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA.

Nettles Cemetery is located on Cold Springs Road, near Woodville, MS.
