James Kitchens officiating. Internment will foolow in the Greer Cemetery Rayville, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA. Mr. Greer was born, June 5, 1917, Rayville, LA in the Greer Community, and was raised in the Greer Community. He passed away, April 16, 2007, at the Northeast Louisiana War Veteran's Home, Monroe, Louisiana, where he had been a resident for the past eight years. He was a retired Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Force, during World War II as a Sergeant. Mr. Greer was a member of the Zebedee Baptist Church, Rayville, Louisiana. He enjoyed sports, outside, outside activities, and a lover of pets and animals. Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his parents; Hezzie Carr Greer and mary Edna Wilkerson Greer; and his step-mother, Viola Laird Greer; his wife, Vera Eager Greer, and step-daughter, Laverne Greer Dreher, brother, Warren Purvis Greer and sister Hazel Greer Hoben. He is survived by his sister-in-law Frances Cook Greer of Franklinton, LA; sisters, Earline Greer Rutledge and her husband Jack of Monroe, LA, and LaValle Greer Stuart of Rayville, LA; brotohers Willis Andrew “Dub” Greer and his wife Pat of Rayville, LA and George Wesley “Wenchy” Greer and his wife Sue also of Rayville, LA. As well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pallbeaers will be Mitchell Greer, Steven Greer, Jeffery Greer, Zebedee Greer, Bradley Greer and Brent Greer Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home On line condolences / registry at www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com
