Allen Keith Parks

August 10, 1969 — April 30, 2012

Keith “Spud”, of West Monroe, LA was born on August 10, 1969 in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, James “Allen” and Linda Reeves Parks.   He suddenly left this life on Monday, April 30, 2012 following a short hospital stay.

Keith followed in his father’s footsteps as a General Mechanic at Graphic Packaging, Plant 31, where he considered all his co-workers part of his family.  There he was appointed Shop Steward.  He was a Master Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 265 in Chatham, LA and Lodge No. 419 in West Monroe, LA.  There was nothing that Keith could not do, make, or fix.   He was so smart and skilled with his hands.   He was larger than life and always wanted to have fun, even building and riding a zip-line through his yard or diving off house roofs into swimming pools.  He was known as a “big teddy bear”, a “gentle giant”, and mostly a prankster.   He had been the mountain, bigger than the rock, to his wife since she was 16.  He had a heart the size of no other.  He was loved by all and had too many best friends to name, all of them he considered brothers. Keith was an avid hunter of all creatures and loved all sports.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, James “Allen” Parks of Winnsboro, LA and 3 uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 21 years, Kala Branch Parks; daughter, Jayda; son, Carson; mother, Linda Reeves Parks; sisters, Kellie Parks both of Winnsboro, LA, Kriss Hollis and husband, Shaun of Rayville, LA; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Linda Rigal Branch of Rayville, LA; brother-in-law, Devin Branch and wife, Dawn of Covington, LA; sister-in-law, Julianne Paille  of Rayville, LA; nephews, Jamie Hollis, Charles “Buddy” Hollis, Caden Parks, Brayden Hollis; nieces, Sarah Hollis, Larkin Branch, LeeAnn Branch, Lorelai Branch, Lillibeth Branch, Kaylee Paille, and Raelynn Hollis; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He held each and every one of them so dear to his heart.

Funeral Services for Keith will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the sanctuary of Evangel Temple Assembly of God with Rev. Calvin Stapp and Rev. Roger Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Evangel Temple.

Pallbearers will be Jaime Hollis, Charles “Buddy” Hollis, Richard Berry, Darryl Carson, Jason Parks, Joshua Parks, Matthew Reeves, and Allen Osbon.
