Alton Daniel Nelson

Services for Mr. Alton D. Nelson, 80 of Monroe, LA will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at New Beginnings Tabernacle Church in Rayville, with Rev. Carolyn Sue Day, Rev. Anita Hunter, and Rev. Vincent Butell officiating. Interment will follow in Woolen Lake Church of God Cemetery in Hebert, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.Mr. Nelson was a retired carpenter, and passed away on October 30, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Lois Nelson; 4 brothers, Cecil, James, John Wayne and Kenneth Nelson.Survivors include: Wife, Doris Stephens of Monroe; son, Eddie Dean Nelson of Phoenix, AZ; 2 sisters, Lois L. Brandt of Pace FL, and Mary Lee Hussey of Ramer, AL; and a host of other family and friends.Pallbearers are: Jess Lee, Sherman Poole, John Hunter, Don Berry, Davie Day, Johnny Berry, Hershall Woodard, and Jason Prince. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at New Beginnings Tabernacle Church in Rayville.
