Funeral services for Ms. Barbara Rachal Southern, 94, of Monroe LA, will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA. A private family interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, LA. Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until 6:00PM Friday, November 5, 2021, at the funeral home.

Ms. Southern was born on September 14, 1927, in Ruston, LA and passed away November 1, 2021, at her home in Monroe, LA. She was born and raised in Ruston and graduated from Ruston High School. She enjoyed fishing and working in her yard.

Ms. Southern was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Grigsby Rachal; father, Agusta Washington Rachal; and brother, A.W. Rachal, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Evelyn Southern Loper; her son, Robert Bruce Southern; grandsons, Christopher Loper, Sean Albert Southern and fiance, Kristin Lee Farquharson.
