Bobby Joe Phillips

Memorial services for Mr. Bobby Joe Phillips of Newellton will be 10:00am Saturday, January 2, 2021 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro with Rev. Rex Barker officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Phillips was born February 16, 1964 in Epps, LA and passed from this life on December 29, 2020 in Newellton, LA at the age of 56. Bobby was thankful for the love of his life, Mary, and also for the children and grandchildren she brought into his life. He loved them as his very own. He never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need and always willing to lend a hand. He was an avid hunter in his younger years and was a farmer for most of his life. He spent his last few years working for Delta Fuel and took great pride in his work. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle, and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Ray Phillips, Jr; his mother, Juanita Phillips Mitchell and “bonus dad”, Jack Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Mary Phillips of Newellton; his children, Timmy Bower of Roanoke, WV, Randy Bower of Roanoke, WV, Karen Bower of Newellton and Scott “The Baby” Bower of Newellton; two sisters, Rhonda Joyner and husband, Keith of West Monroe, and Dorothy Phillips of Magnolia, AR; also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
