Carey M Messina

Funeral Services for Mr. Carey M. Messina, 90, of Monroe, LA, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Monroe, LA, with Fr. Paul Thunduparampil officiating. Entombment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road.

Mr. Messina was born January 6, 1928, and passed away on December 21, 2018. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mr. Messina was in wholesale seafood sales for over 50 years. He was an avid Saints and LSU football fan. Mr. Messina was a third-degree in the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Adragna Messina; son, John Andrew Messina; parents, Joseph and Mary Messina; siblings, Frank, Sam, Anthony, Joe, Angie, Mary, Martha, Rosie, Sarah, and Josephine.

Survivors include children, Carey J. Messina and wife Jolie, Cathy M. Trichel and husband Don, and Lisa F. Messina; six grandchildren, Ryan Trichel and wife Amanda, Laura Catherine Trichel, Emily Rose Eskew and husband Patrick, Natalie Elizabeth Marocco and husband Justin, John Thomas Messina and wife Ashlynn, Catherine Mary Messina and fiancé Zach; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Joseph Trichel, John Maverick Trichel, Elise Anne Eskew, Andrew Patrick Eskew, Noah Thomas Marocco, and Josie Bradley Marocco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Trichel, John Thomas Messina, Frank Bruscato, Tony Bruscato, John P. Cruz, and Mike Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be James J. Balsamo Jr., Clarence Schmittzehe, and Mitchell Miletello.

Memorials may be made to the Our Lady of Fatima Altar Society, Ouachita Council on Aging, or charity of your choice.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2018, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Sampognaro, Dr. Greg Green, and everyone who visited and helped care for Dad, especially his faithful family and friends.
