John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edward Spencer, 75, of West Monroe, La. will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 28, 2010 at the Hyde Park Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Jeff Luellen and Rev. Tom Lowe officiating. Interment will be in Lynn Cemetery in Archibald, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA

Charles was born and raised in Richland Parish and was taught the value of hard work at a young age. Known to many as “Legs”, he worked most of his life as a crane operator and was one of the top in his field. He retired from Ranger Erectors in 1998.
He was a loving husband, daddy, brother, and Papaw and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to hunt, fish, read, bush hog his beloved camp and especially tell you a story. There was nothing he could not fix or tell you how to. In his younger days he was an accomplished horseman winning many trophies and awards. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was quick to make you laugh and famous for his one liners. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and we will miss him every day but rejoice to know we will be with him again.
His most important accomplishment took place on January 23, 2008 when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a revival service at Hyde Park Baptist Church in West Monroe. He was baptized the very next Sunday. He was determined to read the bible from the beginning to the end and he did; twice. He remained a faithful member at Hyde Park for the remainder of his life.
