Funeral Services for Charles Harry Foster, 86, of Downsville, LA will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Downsville, LA with Rev. Robbie Robison officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Harry Foster passed away at his residence on October 30, 2013.

Harry was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #149 for over 60 years. He played professional baseball, was a muscadine farmer, mud logger and a musician who enjoyed playing for the veterans at the NELA War Veterans Home and different venues with the Harry Foster Band.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie L. Foster; children, Dixie Foster Chapman and husband, Richie and their daughters, Mallory and Allie; Lori McKinnie and husband, Jason and their children, Justin and Megan; Brenda Liggin Viator; Sammy Liggin and wife, Susan and their children, Sam Jr. and Catherine; and Wyatt Liggin and his children, Joshua and Ashley; 10 great grandchildren; and a niece and numerous nephews.

Pallbearers will be Blonde Arrant, Bill Nolan, Jimmy Dennig, Bo Holcomb, Will Sam Shatzer, James “Red” Montgomery, Bobby Bayles, Jay Emory and Gary Tidwell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Robinson, Edwin Emory and Bill Blackstock.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Downsville, LA.

Memorials may be made to the NELA War Veterans Home.
