May 25, 1934 — June 14, 2018

It is with sadness that the family of Charles Wesley Thomas announces his passing. He was born on May 28th, 1934 and went to be with the Lord on June 14th, 2018.

Charles “C.W” Thomas is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Hebert Thomas. He is also survived by his daughters, Joy (Eugene) Blackman, Cheryl (Gerald) Coleman, and stepdaughters, Tye (Toney) Womack, and GayeLynn Huckaby. He was known as “PawPaw” to his grandchildren, Chris (Alecia) Bryant, Heather Bryant, Wesley (Amber) Coleman, Holly (Josh) Wallace, Shawn (Sheila) Womack, and Dustin Womack and to his great-grandchildren, Parker and Avery Bryant, Jena Womack, Mize Womack, and Emily Womack. He is survived by his siblings, Lila (Jo) LaBlanc, Buster (Frances) Thomas, Pete (Vada) Thomas, Paul (Brenda) Thomas and several nieces and nephews.

C.W. received his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M and served in the United States Army. He retired from the U.S. Government Department of Agriculture with 46 years of service as an officer in charge.

Our Daddy, “PawPaw,” will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband and father. He had a quiet strength and wisdom upon which his family could always depend. He was a constant in our lives and a true example of everything a Father/Grandfather represents. There is nothing he loved more than being surrounded by his children and grandchildren; he made each one of them feel deeply loved. He leaves us with precious memories that we will cling to until we see him again.

Eugene Blackman, Gerald Coleman, Chris Bryant, Wesley Coleman, Bruce Morgan, and Ethan Morgan will serve as Pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the 5th floor staff at St. Francis Hospital and the nurses at Louisiana Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion. They would also like to thank Fair Park Baptist Church of West Monroe for ministering to them during this difficult time.
