Christy Leigh Powell

Memorial Services Celebrating the life of Christy Powell, 53, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Swartz First Assembly of God Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Gerald Lewis and Pastor Greg McManus officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Christy was born on January 12, 1969, and passed away at her residence in West Monroe, LA, on September 29, 2022. She loved taking care of children, working as a childcare provider at Claiborne Christian Preschool. She loved scrap booking, playing the flute and was a very good mother and wife. She loved her family and will be missed dearly.

Christy is preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Mattie Louise Gilley and by her grandmother, Edna Goodwin.

Survivors include her husband, Tony Powell; daughter, Jessica Powell; brother, Kevin Gilley; stepsisters, Joyce Sims and Beverly Credl; mother-in-law, Judy Holman; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday at Swartz First Assembly of God Church.
