Clara Lucille Coats

Funeral Services for Mrs. Clara Lucille Coats, 92, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Tony Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.
 
Mrs. Coats was born on November 1, 1918 and passed away on March 25, 2011 in West Monroe, LA.  She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School and received her Nursing Degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1938.  Mrs. Coats was an active Registered Nurse for 61 years until her retirement at the age of 81.   She was a lifetime member of the Parents Teachers Association; serving as President the first year Highland Elementary School opened.  Mrs. Coats was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church.  She made many trips with the Mulhearn Group.
 
Mrs. Coats is preceded in death by her husband, C.T. Coats.
 
Survivors include her children, Sharon Davis and husband, Donnie and George R. Coats and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Tracie Walsworth and husband, Doug, Theresa Coats Nolan and significant other, Lee Hixson, Georgia Coats Pope and husband, Jeffrey and Kristin Davis Conde and husband, Corey; great grandchildren, Jessica Walsworth and fiancé, Roy McKinley, Hannah Walsworth, Haleigh Vollmar and expected in June, Presley Pope.
 
Pallbearers will be Johnny Mitchell, Jay Mitchell, M.W. Fife, Julius Wagoner, Ricky Cody, and Ray Whitlock.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Bert Hatten, Sonny Bennett, Mike Walsworth, Thomas Murphy and Jeremy Vollmar.
 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
 
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the West Monroe Guest House, which Mrs. Coats considered her family.
