Graveside Services for Mr. Claude E. Evans, 85, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, LA with Rev. Gerry Courtney officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.

Claude was born on May 24, 1929 in Mangham, LA and passed away on July 26, 2014 at the Avalon Place Nursing Home in Monroe, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Tempie Cheek Evans; two brothers, Bennie Joe Evans, Sr. and James L. “Buddy” Evans and his wife, Charlene; and his niece, Tammie Evans Currin. Claude retired from T. L. James. He loved to fish, especially with his cousin Jake on Woolen Lake, and visiting with friends and reminiscing about old times and the news of day. He loved animals and liked to feed and watch the humming birds.

Survivors include his three daughters, Bonnie, Pat, and Christine; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Evans; niece, Suzanne Evans Underwood and husband, Bobby and Marilyn Evans Scalia and husband, Mark; nephew, Bennie Evans Jr. and wife, Sharon; along with many aunts, and uncles.

Memorials may be made to the Lakeshore Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Jim and Sammie Belgard, who helped to care for Claude and who treated him like family for so many years. Also to his sitters, Lureatha, Wanda, Mason, Ira and Ann and the staff of Avalon Place Nursing Home, especially Mike for the care shown over the last months.
