Funeral Services for Mrs. Curtistine Copes, 74, of West Monroe, LA will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Don Whatley officiating. Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery in Delhi.

Mrs. Copes was born May 10, 1936 in Franklin, LA and passed away on April 30, 2011 in West Monroe, LA. She was a hard worker having been co-owner and operator of Copes Texaco and Towing Company for over 45 years. Mrs. Copes was very generous to so many people. She enjoyed gardening but her pride and joy was spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Copes is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Ruby Newman; and brother, Burrell Newman.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert “Clayton” Copes, Sr.; children, Cassandra Ann Copes Juenger and husband Gary, Dianne Rachel Copes Odaware and husband James, Ruby Jean Copes Clark and husband Eric, Hubert Clayton Copes, Jr. and fiancée Dee; nine grandchildren, Samantha Marie Clark, Brittany Copes Maxwell, Eric Curtis Clark, Nickolas Clayton Copes, Rachel Elizabeth Odaware Adams, Charles Ethan Juenger, Erica Nicole Clark, Clayton Sherman Clark, Peyton Copes; seven great-grandchildren, Dusty Evans, Faith Evans, Christian Clark, Addison Adams, Grace Clark, Mayce Maxwell, and Olivia Maxwell; brother, Willard Newman; sister, Annette Stansbury; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Charles Ethan Juenger, Eric Curtis Clark, Frank Shavers, Nicholas Clayton Copes, Hubert Clayton Copes, Jr., James Odaware, Eric Kent Clark, and Clayton Sherman Clark.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
