Funeral services for Dottie Boyte, 88, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 31, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time, Saturday, at the funeral home.


Mrs. Boyte was born August 1, 1929, in Monroe, LA, and passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Bastrop, LA. Dottie was a retired LPN and worked for Dr. Doyle Hamilton for over 25 years. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church, and John Tannehill’s Life Group. She was a homemaker and mother until her husband’s death. She then went back to school, graduated, and began her nursing career.

Mrs. Boyte was preceded in death by her husband, James Farrell Boyte; parents, Jim and Essie Stewart; sister, Bea Greenan; 2 brothers, James Stewart and Harry Stewart.

Survivors include her children, Steve Boyte and wife Martha, Bob Boyte and wife Judy, Becky Boyte and lifelong friend Robyn Nally; 2 grandchildren, Staci Choate and husband Kenneth, and Kristi Ewasko and husband Matt; 3 great grandchildren, Alex and Cameron Ewasko, and Avery Choate; numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hegwood, Kenneth Choate, Jody Lofton, Artie McMullen, Whit McMullen, and Raymond Benefield.

Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church Building Fund.
