Funeral services for E. S. “Peanuts” Gibbs, 87, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at College Place Baptist Church with Rev. David Willis officiating. Interment will be at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Gibbs passed away Friday, December 24, 2010. He was a member of College Place Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII and served at Iwo Jima and the Pacific Theatre.

Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Case Gibbs; and his parents.

Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Perry and husband David of Monroe, LA and Peggy Tennyson and husband Bronnie of Haughton, LA; son, Emmett Gibbs and wife Lisa of Ruston, LA; four granddaughters, Mary Guidry and husband Daniel of Eunice, LA, Lori Takewell and husband Terry of Calhoun, LA, Hallie Martin of Haughton, LA, and Leigh Martin of Bossier City, LA; four grandsons, David Potter of Eunice, LA, Josh Martin and wife Shannon of Fort Worth, TX, Nicholas Gibbs and wife Bethany of Pittsburgh, PA, and Jonathan Gibbs of Monroe, LA; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Josh Martin, Nicholas Gibbs, Jonathan Gibbs, Terry Takewell, Brent Takewell, and Jackson Porter.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
