Graveside Services for Mrs. Effie Broomfield Hendricks, 96, of Mobile, AL formerly of West Monroe, LA will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA with her son-in-law officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Effie Broomfield Hendricks was born in Conroe, TX on January 29, 1914, and passed from this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Mobile, AL, where she had made her home for the last 13 years. Mrs. Hendricks and her husband had several businesses in the West Monroe area for many years. She had been a member of the Church of God, Cleveland, TN since 1939. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for around 30 years and held several offices in the local church. She was a fun-loving and jolly person, never failing to witness about her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walker and Martha Broomfield; brother, Vernon Broomfield; and loving husband of 40 years, Lavert Hendricks.
Mrs. Hendricks is survived by two children, Lajuana Oglesby and husband, Jerry and Marlene Vaughan and husband, Carl; brother, Mills Broomfield of Ponca City, OK; six grandchildren, Kevin Oglesby, Shawn Oglesby, Dawn Oglesby Cathey, Russell Vaughan, Eric Vaughan, and Valerie Vaughan Trest; six great-grandchildren, Sylvie Cathey, Caleb Cathey, Tara Brownlee, David Carter, Philip and Payton Vaughan; three nieces, Karen Hugo, Linda Foster, and Susan Linhares; many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
