Funeral services for Mrs. Eileen R. Rubin, 79, of Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 22, 2010 at Temple B’Nai Israel with Rabbi Arnold Task officiating. Interment will follow at the Jewish Cemetery.
Mrs. Rubin passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010. She was a member of B’Nai Israel. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Sam Rubin, Jr. of Monroe, LA; two sons, Dr. Mark Rubin of Monroe, LA and Barry E. Rubin and wife Nicole of Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Lori Spires and husband Dr. Allen Spires of Monroe, LA; sister, Marilyn Blumenbach of Kerrville, TX; grandchildren, Daley Miller, Allen Spires, Jr., Sam Spires, Leslie Spires, George Spires, and Joseph Spires; and niece, Terri Trammell and husband Jack.
Pallbearers will be Mike Stephens, Bob Lane, Gary Luffey, David Swanson, Sam Spires, and Allen Spires, Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe and 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Friday at Temple B ’Nai Israel.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ralph Armstrong for his many years of kindness to Eileen, the Oak Woods Nursing Home and the attending physicians at St. Francis Medical Center. Special thanks to her close friends that she loved dearly and also Comfort Care Sitting Nursing Services and Shannon Newton with St. Joseph Hospice Care.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to Oak Woods Nursing Home in Mer Rouge, LA.
