Elizabeth A. "Libby" Anders

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Elizabeth A. “Libby” Anders, 90, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, with Rev. R.B. Moore officiating. Interment will follow Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the church.

Libby died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, surrounded by family members. She was a native of Monroe for her entire life. She was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church and choir for over 60 years.

She received her degree in music from LA Tech University in 1952 and sang with great joy all the years that followed. She was a member of the Masterworks Choir and sang with students at Northeast, and Monroe Symphony. She participated in the Monroe Charity League and her PEO group of sisters Chapter AK. Gardening gave her great joy and she always shared her beautiful flowers with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family and friends. She was the owner of Monroe Spring and Brake and formed a great work family. She worked there until the age of 85.

Survivors include, her son and daughter-in-law, William H. “Billy” Anders III and Pamela; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Anders McDougald and Randy; grandchildren, Jessica Phillips and husband Steven, Jamie Elizabeth Smith and fiancé Tyler Livingston, Andrew Aaron Simpson, William Herman “Will” Anders IV, Jeffery Giovingo and wife Casey; great grandchildren, Cameron Dale Phillips and fiancé Lily Danielle Bishop, Casey Marie Phillips, Maddix Kade Smith, Magnolia Grace Smith, Jenson Giovingo, and Callan Giovingo; and great great granddaughter Stella Kate Phillips.

Mrs. Anders was preceded in death by her husband, Williams H. “Andy” Anders, Jr. and granddaughter, Alyssa Marie Neitz.
Pallbearers will be Andy Simpson, Will Anders, Cameron Phillips, Cole Phillips, Kade Smith, and David Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be St. Pauls Choir and Monroe Spring and Brake employees.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Gardens of Georgia Tucker, Nancy Smith, Victoria Alexander, David Adams, and the nurses on the fifth floor at St. Francis Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Pauls United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
