Gertrude Dubose Mountjoy

Funeral services for Gertrude Stubbs Mountjoy, 98, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lynn Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Mountjoy passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at her residence. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monroe. Mrs. Mountjoy was the secretary for an LSU coach, and then later worked as secretary for the State of Louisiana Highway Department while they were putting in I-20. She enjoyed showing horses.

Survivors include two nephews, Carey E. Posey, Jr. of Arcadia, LA, and William R. Posey and wife Mary of Lowell, MA.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Monroe.
