Funeral services for Gillis Lee Cupit, 57, of Calhoun, La. will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. with Dr. Dennis Swanburg officiating. Interment will be in New Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Gillis died January 30, 2009 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Gillis was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe, La., where he was a member of the Guillott-Foster Sunday School Class. He was a C-Broke Operator at Graphic Packaging.
Survivors: his wife, Susie Cupit; Daughter and Son-in-law, Amy and Scott Alexander; Mother, Mrs. Ouida Mae Cupit; Sister, Judy Clark and husband, Ronnie; Numerous Nieces and Nephews
Pallbearers will be J. V. Leach, Ray Robinson, Brian Little, Bret Clark, Ray Hebert, and Jerry Foster.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, La.
Memorials may be made to Community Transformation Fund through First West.
