Funeral services for Howard Lynn McLain, 59, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 25, 2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Dale Walker and Ritchie Redding officiating. Interment will follow at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. McLain, business owner, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center from a brief illness. He was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, a Mason Order member of Eros Lodge #295 serving as Past Master, and president of Loco Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. McLain was preceded in death by his parents, Herman M. McLain and Mary A. Gongre McLain; son, Marvin McLain; twin sons, Stacey and Tracey McLain; three brothers, Eugene McLain, Charles McLain, and James Willard McLain; father-in-law, Elmer Lee McManus; and brother-in-law, Mike McManus.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Sandra McLain; son, Howard L. McLain, Jr. and wife Carrie, and children, Chelsea McLain, Lillie McLain, Taylor Varner, and Jacob Varner; son, Kevin D. McLain and wife Christin, and children, Olivia McLain, Victoria McLain, and Zoe McLain; sister, Patsy Eppinette and husband Charlie; brother, Kenneth McLain and sister-in-law, Mary McLain; mother-in-law, Jo Anne McManus; brothers-in-law, Ronnie McManus, Brian McManus, and Jason McManus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Ricky Smith, Johnny Stanley, Ronnie McManus, Brian McManus, and Jason McManus. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Freeman, Donnie Slade, Charlie Eppinette, Bubba Wilson, and Steve Colson.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Thompson, Dr. Brookhouse, Dr. Sullivan, Dr. Sartor, and the nursing staff of St. Francis SICU.
