Mr. Taylor was born April 23, 1942 and passed away June 20, 2021.

He is in Heaven now, no pain, no shaking, he can walk again and is probably having the best family reunion ever. He was a very strong, loving, funny man with many stories to tell. He loved duck hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and watching westerns on TV. Jake was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved LSU, LA Tech and sometimes would root for Alabama. Jake was born in Alabama. He loved the Lord Jesus so much that he accepted Him as his personal Saviour many years ago. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, where we met each other, and we were married there 54 years ago. Jake while a teenager helped to lay the foundation for the church. He was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, softball player, basketball player, and general mechanic (pipefitter) and retired from Riverwood after 43 years of service. He was such a good husband and we loved each other so much. We went through good times, bad times, many happy times, sad times and through it all our love for each other was steadfast. We took seriously our vows to each other....until death do us part. I'm going to miss him so very much; our family will make it through the sad times. There will be laughter again soon. Jake would want that. I feel the loss already but there will be another "Glad Reunion in Heaven" once again and we will see him again. Keep our family in your prayers as we travel through this journey.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Hilda Taylor; son, Tim Taylor and wife Kim; daughter, Stacey Taylor; and grandchildren, Wes Taylor and Gracie Taylor.

Pallbearers will be John Becton, Sr., Johnny Becton, Richard Perot, Johnny Pace, George Roberts, and Tommy Sullins. Honorary Pallbearer will be Wes Taylor.
