Funeral Services for James G. Sandifer, 88, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Jeff Luellen officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA.
Mr. Sandifer was born on May 20, 1925 in Mendenhall, MS and passed away on August 28, 2013. He served his country in the United States Navy. He loved woodworking, especially caning chairs. He taught numerous classes on caning chairs at the Senior Center in Monroe, LA. Mr. Sandifer is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Sandifer and his daughter, Pamela Sandifer Willis.
Survivors include his sister, Alice McCaskill of Corinth, MS; children, James P. “Sonny” Sandifer and wife, Margaret of Bossier City, LA and Jo Lynn Foster and husband, Danny of West Monroe, LA; special friend, Lula Mae Brinson of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Earl Bennett, Keith Cloyd, Stephen Foster, Tracy Watson, Ted Johnson and Bill Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 30, 2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to the Carolyn Rose Strauss Senior Center, 2407 Ferrand Monroe, LA 71201.
