Services for Mr. James L. (Jimmy) Thompson, 79, of Mangham, LA, a life long resident of Lake Providence, LA will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Mangham Baptist Church, with the Rev. Cecil Herrington officiating, interment to follow in the Lone Cherry Cemetery near Mangham, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home – Rayville, LA.
Mr. Thompson was born July 27, 1929 and passed from this life on June 27, 2009 in Rayville, LA. He was a farmer, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his brother, R. C. Thompson.
He is survived by two sons – Jimmy Wayne Thompson of Monroe, La and Jerry Thompson and wife TiaJuana of Mangham, LA, three daughters – Helen Chaney of Woodstock, GA, Loree Tibbs of Holly Ridge, LA, and Jill Barton of Texas, three brothers – Frank Thompson of Vick, LA, J. D. Thompson of Lake Providence, LA, and Thurman Thompson, Jr. of Jonesville, LA, four sisters – Loretta Driver of Sondhiemer, LA, Ann Frey of Oak Grove, LA, Carolyn Mitchell of Lake Providence, LA, and Myrtis Gray of Ferriday, LA, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Thompson, James Thompson, Chris Chaney, Jason Baker, Daniel Matthews, and Mike Matthews.
Visitation will be from 5-8:00PM Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel.
