A Farewell Tribute to Mr. John David Johnson, 41, of West Monroe, LA will be held 12:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Cecil Herrington officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
John was born in West Monroe on July 29, 1969; he suddenly left our lives on July 19, 2011 at Glenwood Hospital. John loved hunting, fishing, and playing pool with his friends. He also loved his buddy Molly, whom he called “Stinky” that wasn’t treated like a dog. He is preceded in death by his step-father, Dannie Funderburk; grandparents, Clarence Samuel Goodwin, Connie Lee Hatten, and Leon and Lena Johnson.
Survived include: his mother, Millie Funderburk of West Monroe, LA; father and step-mother, David and Shirley Johnson of Columbia, LA; sister, Malinda Chapman and husband Mike; step-brother, Woodie Funderburk and wife Monica; step-sisters, Paige White and husband Bobby, Melanie Bottoms and husband Danny, Cindy Scarbrough and husband Ronnie, Amanda Littleton; niece and nephew Shelby Chapman and Samuel Chapmen, who loved Uncle as they called him; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Chad Goodwin, Al Goodwin, Woodie Funderburk, Rickey Eads, and Mike Odom.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
