Graveside Services for John R. Moore, 72, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Hasley Cemetery Memorial Pavilion in West Monroe, LA with Bishop Theodore Coenen officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
John R. Moore was born June 18, 1940 to Sidney and Bertha T. Moore, and died peacefully at his home September 23, 2012. Mr. Moore was a retired engineer with BellSouth Telephone Company and was currently managing Antra Mini Warehouses in Monroe, LA. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Monroe, LA. Johnny enjoyed athletics of all types and working with young people. He had a larger than life laugh and always had something remarkable to say, as conversation was what Johnny lived for. He was fortunate to have so many friends from all segments of our community.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Choat and husband, Jason; son, James Randall Moore and his partner, Chad Giovingo all of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Ashley and Ashtyn Antley and Jackson Choat; three sisters, Mildred “Bit” Abrams of Swartz, LA, Elva Lois Jean of Jacksonville, AR and Betty Cornett of Russellville, AR; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
The family would like to thank those who checked on Johnny and assisted him in recent days, including his longtime friends, Marie Pomeroy and Janet Thomas. His devoted niece, Carolyn Perry and her husband, Herbert, The Ardito Family and his many wonderful friends at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Your thoughtfulness and kindness is much appreciated.
