Josephine Trichel Clark, simply known as “Jobie” to those who knew her well, passed into the arms of her heavenly father at the young age of 86 after a bountiful and happy life full of love for her Lord and Savior. Today her family is mourning the loss of the long-standing matriarch of the Clark family, but each one is blessed to carry many wonderful memories in their hearts.
She lived an exemplary Christian life which she never wavered from. She left her great love for her Lord as an example for her family and friends to follow.
“Nana”, lovingly referred to by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was surrounded by her family when she left this life to join her late husband, Maurice, on their next journey together. Born December 8, 1934, in Fairbanks, LA to Frank and Rose LeBrun Trichel, Jobie lived an early life surrounded by a sister, two brothers, numerous cousins and strong family ties. It was later in life that the family moved to West Monroe where the Trichel’s put down roots building a solid foundation for generations to come. Jobie was a proud 1953 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School. During her senior year, she met the love of her life, Elmer “Maurice” Clark. The two were married on July 6, 1953 in West Monroe after Maurice returned from a tour of duty with the Navy. After their marriage, the Clark’s lived in New Mexico as well as several areas of Louisiana before settling down and spending a large portion of their lives in Bastrop. Jobie was a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church and was retired as a Morehouse Parish school bus driver. She was a resident at Savannah Court Assisted Living in Bastrop at the time of her passing.
Mrs. Clark is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; Frank Trichel, Jr., and Russell Trichel; and one sister, Thelma Trichel Whittington.
Jobie was very proud of her children including one son, Rev. Michael Clark and wife, Amy of West Monroe; three daughters, Linda Sell and husband Brent of Shreveport, Brenda Hudson and husband Sonny of Sterlington, and Charlotte Clark of Crossett, Arkansas. Above all, you saw great joy, pride, and enthusiasm when she spoke about or had the opportunity to visit with one of her ten grandchildren or ten great grandchildren. She will be smiling from heaven in a few months when we welcome the arrival of another great grandchild. She is also survived by longtime family friend, James Freeland. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Christopher Haas, Hunter Lloyd, Mason Rogers, Nicolas Hotard, Justin Richard, Dalton Moore, Cameron Clark, and Dylan Rallinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to her son, Michael’s mission with Covenant Life Fellowship at www.acalltogreatness.com, or donations can be mailed to 850 Strozier Rd., West Monroe, LA 71291, for a child development center project in Olanchito Honduras.
