Funeral services for Julianna Carol Byrd Crump, 45, of West Monroe, LA will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Mulhearn Memorial Gardens, Monroe, LA. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm.
Julie was born on December 12, 1967 and passed away on November 29, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include: Husband, Bobby D. Crump, Jr.; Son, Cameron Wade Crump; ‘Aunt Bunny’ Turley and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Clifford Wade Byrd and Mary Smith Byrd.
Julie attended West Monroe High School and graduated in 1985. She received her degree in Education from University of Louisiana-Monroe in 1989 and later gained her Masters in Library Science from LSU in 1995.
Her love of reading started at an early age, with she and her mom meeting the ‘bookmobile’ to search for the new releases. This led her to start a rewarding career for the Ouachita Parish Public Library. She started out as a page, and advanced up to become branch manager. She retired from the library in 2011 after 22 years of employment. She loved working with the public, as well as enjoyed the camaraderie of her co-workers.
Julie’s son, Cameron was a continuous source of joy and inspiration to her. Whether she was taking him to a practice, working at the concession, or traveling to a band competition, she enjoyed it all.
Her favorite quote came from Margaret Thatcher “I’m extraordinarily patient provided I get my own way in the end!”
