Funeral Services for Mrs. Kathryn “Kakee” Lee, 85, will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe.
Kathryn was born in Athens, LA on June 11, 1927 and passed away on April 24, 2013. She was retired from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Department after 22 years of service. Kathryn graduated from Louisiana Tech School of Nursing in 1983. She was also retired from St. Francis Medical Center.
Kathryn was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, AGAPE Sunday School Class, a faithful prayer warrior, Monday/ Friday Bridge Club, DeNova Book Club, and the North LA Porcelain Art Club in Ruston, LA.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Sharron Lee Jackson and husband Phil of Start, LA; grandson, Christopher Jackson and wife Sheri of Monroe, LA; great-grandson, Anthony Jackson of Monroe, LA; sisters, Betty Soignier and husband Ray, Jan Sears and husband Ron; very special nieces, Kelly Freeland and husband Wayne, Pam Pursnell and husband Alan, Debbie Raiford and husband Charlie, and Marsha Roberts and husband Mike; and nephew, David Soignier and wife Amy.
She is preceded in death by her father, Grayson Pittman; mother, Bennie Smith; husband, Clifton Lee; son, Clifton “Buddy” Lee, Jr.; and sister, Gracie Drummond.
Pallbearers will be Joe Freeland, Wayne Freeland, Laymon Godwin, Alan Pursnell, Mike Roberts, and David Soignier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Pursnell, Matthew Roberts, Michael Roberts, Charlie Raiford, and Joshua Raiford.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday, April 26, 2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Our family wishes to express their thanks to Hospice Compassus, all of the employees on the third floor at St. Francis Medical Center, and her sitter Nell Weathersby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of West Monroe or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
