Kay Gilliland Holloway

September 25, 1953 — June 20, 2020

Memorial Services for Mrs. Kay Gilliland Holloway,66, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until service time Wednesday in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kay Ann Gilliland Holloway passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, June 20, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Wayne Holloway. The two were inseparable since they were high school sweethearts, having just celebrated their forty-seventh wedding anniversary on June 16, 2020. By each other’s side over every hill and through each valley in their lives, they traveled everywhere together, worked together, and shared a love of fishing and LSU football. Jeff even endured Kay’s appreciation for Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.

As Kay was a lifelong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, her family takes comfort that she is celebrating in heaven with her father, Oliver Henry Gilliland and her mother, Ressie Kolb Gilliland, both of whom preceded her in death.

In addition to being a devoted wife to Jeff, Kay was also a loving mother to two daughters, Jennifer Kay Holloway (Steve) of Mandeville, LA and Amy Elizabeth Holloway Harris (Dusty) of West Monroe, LA; and son, William Ryan Holloway (Faith) of Greenville, SC. Kay is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Raymond Gambino of West Monroe, LA and their three daughters, Diana Williams, Lisa Boggs, and Laura Gregory. She is survived by her sister-in law and brother-in-law, Gail Holloway Roach and Gordon Edward Roach, Sr. of Alexandria, LA and their son, Gordon Edward Roach, Jr. Kay is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jonathan Cameron Holloway, Gabriella Danielle Holloway, Ashby Kate Holloway, Harper Mabel Holloway, Margot Penelope Holloway, Kenly Brooks Harris, and Andi Elizabeth Harris.

In lieu of flowers, Kay’s family ask that donations be made in her memory to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Foundation.

“Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain....”
