Kay Ramsey Mitchell

Mrs. Kay Ramsey Mitchell, 83, of Monroe, LA, formerly of Farmerville, LA, passed from this life into the arms of her heavenly Father on December 13, 2020. Please join us in a celebration of her life at 10:00AM Thursday, December 17, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Ben Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of First Baptist Sterlington. Kay loved personal relationships. She retired from Ouachita Parish School District as a financial secretary working at Jack Hayes and Ouachita Junior High where she made lifelong friends.
Her family was her heart and soul. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Marie Ramsey; brother, John Wayne Ramsey; and daughter, Pamela Mitchell Holt.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Monroe Mitchell; daughter, Karen (Greg) Cain; son, Bobby (Susie) Mitchell; son-in-law, Ken Holt; grandchildren, Chris (Cynthia) Holt, Chad (Mandy) Holt, Kelly (Joshua) Jackson, and Kristen Cain; great grandchildren, McKenna and Camden Holt and Ada and Price Jackson who were all deeply loved and touched by her life.
Kay was a longtime member of College Place Baptist Church where she taught and served her Savior in many capacities. Her life was a living example of her faith in Christ. She was kind, compassionate and forgiving.
Pallbearers will be Chris and Chad Holt, Greg Cain, Brandon Belanger, Larry Foster, and Ricky McMullen.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the LA Baptist Children’s Home.
The family requests anyone attending the visitation and service to please follow the guidelines of wearing a mask and practice social distancing.
