Funeral services for Mr. Kimble Dallas Ouchley will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Mulhearn Funeral Home on McMillan Road in West Monroe. Interment will follow at the Rocky Branch Cemetery. Reverend Thomas Whitfield Stodghill will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe. A resident of West Monroe, he passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009. He was 80 years old.

Mr. Ouchley was born in Union Parish, Louisiana on October 30, 1928. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae M. Ouchley; and four children, Kelby Ouchley and wife Amy of Rocky Branch, Karen Nichols and husband John of West Monroe, Kim Marie Tolson of Monroe, and Keith Ouchley and wife Susan of St. Francisville, LA. He is also survived by one sister, Sue Harper and husband Charles of Rocky Branch; and six grand children, Jeremy Ouchley and wife Julie of Houston, TX, Zachary Ouchley of Hot Springs, AR, Jennifer Pesnell and husband Derek of Choudrant, Meghan Nichols of West Monroe and Kyle Tolson of Monroe; and one great-grandson, Hudson Ouchley of Houston.

He was a superintendent and general superintendent for several large pipeline construction companies during his career including Associated Pipeline Contractors, Associated-Green, and Reading & Bates. His career spanned the world, including the construction of the Alaska pipeline. Through a lifetime of work, he had numerous colleagues, friends and co-workers in the construction industry. He grew up hunting and fishing in the D’Arbonne swamp and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time outside with his family and close friends and at the family farm in Union Parish.

Pallbearers will be John McDonald, Glen Fillingame, Derek Pesnell, Jeremy Ouchley, Zachary Ouchley and Kyle Tolson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Black Creek Hunting Club and many of his former pipeline associates.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
