Larry L. McMorris

Funeral services for Larry L. McMorris, 67, of Swartz, will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. George Fluitt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Larry was born December 16, 1946 in Jonesboro, AR to George and Mae McMorris. Larry went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 25, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center. Larry, a Vietnam Veteran, grew up in a family of brick layers; therefore, he learned the craft at an early age and spent his adult life as a commercial brick layer and carpenter.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Marvin, Gordon, J.W., and Lee Wayne; and one sister, Mary Wade.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley; daughter, Cherri; granddaughter, Alex; brother, Paul McMorris and wife, Loretta; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friends, Monte and Paul Parks; and his extended family, the Holdiness family.

Pallbearers will be Mike McMorris, Gary McMorris, Billy Goodwin, Robert Williams, Darren Wheeler, Gerald Balsamo, Mark Miller, and Scott Holdiness.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the doctors and nurses who attended him during his hospital stay and to United Home Care.
