Funeral services for Ms. Lillie Mae Godina, 86, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Rickey Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery.
 
Ms. Godina died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at her home in Monroe. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life. Her gentle smile and beautiful blue eyes gave us all such courage and hope, reminding us of how precious life is. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, cherished grandmother, loving sister, and a joy to all that knew her. She loved church, music, and caring for others.
 
Ms. Godina was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Eufracio “Big Boy” Godina; 6 brothers, WT, Polly, Shot, Big Anni, Dick, and Lionel Oliveaux all of Louisiana; one sister, Sis Miles of Louisiana; and one great granddaughter, Amber Washington of Louisiana.
 
Survivors include two sisters, Rosie McIntosh of North Carolina and Dorothy Sanders of Louisiana; her 6 children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Mark Doyle, Juanita and Joe Cantu, Glory and Bo Bass, Margaret and William Washington, Nicky and Linda Godina, and John and Vicky Godina; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
 
Pallbearers will be Bobby John Godina, Michael Lisotta, Robert Washington, Michael Washington, Richard Washington, and Gary Oliveaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Cheyenne Cantu and Christopher Bass.
 
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
 
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Hospice Compassus, her nurse, Nicole, and all those who helped during Mrs. Lillie’s final days.
