Mack Henry Powell

Funeral service for Mr. Mack Henry Powell, 86, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Dr. Bill Dye officiating. Interment will follow in Roark Cemetery in Marion, LA. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Mr. Powell was born on May 15, 1935, in Marion, LA, and passed away on June 20, 2021, in Monroe. He was a Neville High School Graduate Class of 1954. Mr. Powell also attended ULM and played football at ULM from 1955-1959. He worked as a welder and pipefitter in construction and was a retired member of the Local Plumbers and Steamfitters 659 in Monroe. Mr. Powell was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and served in the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jiley Claude Powell and mother, Beatrice McDermott Parker.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Floy Griffis Powell; daughters, Cheryl Powell McCrary and husband Charlie and Cynthia Powell Risinger; granddaughters, Meghan Risinger, Madison Risinger, and Olivia McCrary; and grandson, Aiden McCrary.
Pallbearers will be Brad Risinger, Randall Bentley, Matt Green, Brent Rogers, Jerry Turner, and Peyton McKinney. Honorary pallbearers will be John Freeman, John Sanders, and Bob Griffis.

Memorials may be made to the North Monroe Baptist Building Fund or to your favorite charity.
