Services for Margaret Elizabeth Curry DeMoss, 85, of West Monroe will be 10:00AM Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Mrs. DeMoss passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Glenwood Hospital entering into Heaven’s Glory.
Mrs. DeMoss was born in Monroe, LA on June 27, 1927 and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. She worked in her early life with the Louisiana Department of Welfare before leaving to raise her son and take care of her family. Her love and devotion to her family was her love in life. She was the rock needed in the care given to her family in their final years, and now she rests with them. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church West Monroe for over 50 years, many of those years teaching in the pre-school division. Mrs. DeMoss dedicated her life to her family, and in particular to her son, Jim and granddaughter, Jeanette. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Walter DeMoss, Sr. and parents, Jeff Curry and Mazie McMullen Curry Taggart.
She is survived by her son, James Walter DeMoss, Jr.; granddaughter, Jeanette Elizabeth DeMoss; daughter-in-law, Lillian R. DeMoss; and life-long friend, Katherine Oliphant.
Pallbearers will be the ushers of First Baptist Church of West Monroe; Tom McCandlish, Russell Hart, Mark Cranford, Mike Allen, Richard Poole, and Marc Jolly. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bob Heflin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West Monroe or charity of your choice.
