Funeral services for Marjorie Jo Barrett Adams, 84, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 27, 2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. David Willoughby officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams, a retired school teacher, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Avalon Place. One word sums up her life..family. She was married for over 63 years, taught school for over 25 years, a member of Calvery Baptist Church and a church nursery worker for over 10 years. Hers was a life of service, a life of love. Welcomed into heaven with great joy, she’ll be sorely missed here.

Survivors include her husband, Nailor J. Adams; son, Neal J. Adams of Houston, TX; daughters, Bonnie A Moore of Monroe and Carolyn S. Hill of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Moore, Jonathan Hill, Stan Felts, P. J. Kindrix, Randy Wiggins, and David Wiggins.

Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 Noon until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
