Graveside ceremony to follow for family at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.

Mary Alyce Jackson Loflin was born in Winnfield, Louisiana, March 27th, 1927. Her parents, E.N. Jackson and Mildred Looney Jackson, moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the 1930’s, and later moved to Monroe, LA in 1938 where they lived for the rest of their lives. Mary Alyce Jackson was known as “Baby” for her entire life, as the baby of the family. She attended Neville High School and graduated from Sophie Newcomb College in 1938. In the 1960’s she became the youth director at First Methodist Church and was an active member of her church for many years.
She also belonged to the Monroe Garden Club, was a founding member of River Oaks School, President of the Girl Scouts of Louisiana, and an avid bridge player for 75 years.

Family and friends will all remember her as a charismatic and strong-willed mother and grandmother who was remarkably supportive of all that she knew and loved.
Baby was known for her ability to have fun and to create an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality. Although she was not known for her cooking, she will be remembered for her magnificent table settings, flower arrangements, and ability to throw a great party.

She is survived by her children; Lynn Loflin (Stuart Wexelbaum), Wes Loflin (Kim Nicklas Loflin), and Kay Loflin. Grandchildren include Nicki Loflin Sampognaro (Frank Sampognaro), John Reed Loflin (Rebecca Robertson Loflin), and Ian Wexelbaum. Great grandchild, Zane Israel Loflin, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who she adored. She is also loved by the many people who she helped raise and who consider her their second mother and grandmother.

Pallbearers are Frank Ashby, Bob Fudickar, Gates Goza, John Reed Loflin, Frank Sampognaro and Ian Wexelbaum.

Special thank you to her amazing caregivers, Alicia Doyle and Chuck Sommerville who we consider members of our family.
Memorials can be made to First Methodist Church of Monroe.
