Funeral Services for Michael Shane “Mike” Hendrix, 46, of West Monroe, LA will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 29, 2010 at First Baptist Church, West Monroe with Rev. Tom Lowe and Rev. Artie Beebe officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Mr. Hendrix was born October 5, 1964 in West Monroe, LA and passed away October 24, 2010 in West Monroe, LA. Mike worked for the Ouachita Parish Fire Department for 23 years. He loved coaching football and was a very generous person always willing to help anyone. Mike would want everyone to know that his two biggest accomplishments in his life were Holly and Nick. He loved being there for them whether it was taking a group of boys canoeing or chauffeuring Holly and her friends anywhere they wanted. His love for his children will live on with every breath that they take. Mike was tough on the outside but will be remembered for his huge heart that was able to hold much love for those who were closest to him.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea “Susie” Hendrix; daughter, Holly Hendrix; son, Nick Hendrix; father, Bob Hendrix and his wife, Dot; mother, Pat Norton; brother, Ray Hendrix; sister, Maureen Johnson; step-brothers, Mark Norton, Brian Norton, Herman Collie, and James Collie; and step-sister, Linda Collie.
Pallbearers will be Mike Jackson, Phillip Cox, Jason McMillan, Jason Sellars, Bobby Fowler, Wes Franklin, Kevin Puckett, and Josh Roan. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ouachita Parish Fire Department.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church, West Monroe.
