Mrs. Frankie Kinney

Funeral services for Mrs. Frankie Kinney, 100, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 26,2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Dr. Larry Stafford and Bro. George Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in Old Bethel Cemetery near Clarks, LA.

Mrs. Kinney passed away on February 23, 2011 in Monroe LA. Frankie was born on April 22, 1910 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 67 years.

Mrs. Kinney spent much of her life in Caldwell Parish. Frankie owned a Grocery store in Grayson, LA until it was destroyed by fire in 1952. She moved to Monroe and worked at both Bodan’s and Louisville Pharmacies. After retirement she sold Avon for 25 years. Frankie loved to travel and made many trips with her friends and family to Spain, Paris, France and other places. She loved flowers and shared them with everyone.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Herschal Mallory and Cora McKinstry Mallory; 3 sons, Hershel, Charles, and John Kinney; grandson, Larry Gilley; great grandsons, Shawn Jones and Jason Obert; sister, Mamie Gilbert Roark; and brother, Lee Roy Mallory.

She is survived by her son, R.T. Kinney, Jr. and wife Betty of Monroe; daughters, Louise Gilley and husband Leroy, and Sue Castle of West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Kinney is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren, and many others who called her grandma as well
.
Pallbearers will be Keith, Randy, and Lee Gilley, Steve and Ian Kinney, and Wesley Jones.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Saturday 1 hour before services and Mulhearn Funeral Home.
