Myles Harper (Duffie) McDuffie

Funeral services for Myles Harper “Duffie” McDuffie, 72, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 24, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, Monroe with Rev. Stan Wyatt and Rev. Marion Collier officiating, and Rev. David Willis as Music Director.  Rev. Jimmy Harper will officiate the graveside service. Interment will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery.

Mr. McDuffie passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012, at his residence.  He was a teacher of 32 years teaching at A.L. Swanson and substituting at Ouachita High School for 16 years. Myles was a member of College Place Baptist Church where he taught a Sunday School class.  He loved writing poetry and would often entertain everyone with funny poems.

Mr. McDuffie was preceded in death by his parents, Myles and Mattie McDuffie and his son, Danny LeFevre McDuffie.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patsy McDuffie; his sons, David McDuffie and Lisa Page, Darryl McDuffie and Karyn Smith, Dwain McDuffie and wife Carly; daughter, Deanna Bozeman and husband Chris; sisters, Mary E. Brown, Ann Johnson and husband Buddy; brother, George McDuffie and wife Rosie; grandsons, Josh Jones, Jake and Conor McDuffie; granddaughters, Anna Grace and Eva Lain McDuffie, Madelyn and Mallory Bozeman; grandson, Michael Harper Bozeman; and sister-in-laws, Rose Robinson and Jo Wroten and husband Jack.

Pallbearers will be Roy and Don McDuffie, Donnie Harper, Jeff Brown, Douglas and Jonathan Johnson, and Jerry Kaufman.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Hammett, Dr. Henry, Dr. Napoli, and Hospice Compassus.

Memorials may be made to College Place Baptist Church.
