Funeral services for Nelda Jean Wood, 86, formerly of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, with Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA.Mrs. Wood died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Union General Hospital.Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Mae Speights; and her daughter Annelle White. Mrs. Wood was a longstanding devoted Christian, member of Victory Baptist Church, and former member of First Baptist Church of Sterlington. She was an excellent cook and a wonderful mother. She loved her family deeply.Survivors; her son, Albert Wood and wife Lucy; daughter, April Coy and husband Mark all of Farmerville, LA; special son-in-law, Sonny White, Sr. of Jackson, MS; grandchildren, Precia Pederson, Charles (Sonny) White, Jr., Heath Wood, Heather Tucker, Mandi Hall, Derek Hennen; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
