Patricia Anne Sanderson

Patricia Anne (Pat, Patty) Clark Sanderson, 75, formerly of West Monroe and Ville Platte, Louisiana passed away after a lengthy illness on November 18, 2021.
Pat was a mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, sister, a really fun aunt, cousin, and loyal one-of-a-kind friend. She was born on a farm between Downsville and Dubach, LA and lived there until she was 12, when she moved with her family to West Monroe. As the middle child of five, thin and wiry, she quickly established herself in her new neighborhood as the protector of her two younger siblings. Sometimes she had to provide neighborhood bullies, all much larger than herself, with unforgettable reminders that they should be kind to others, especially her younger sister and brother.
For many years, Pat and her husband lived in Ville Platte, LA, near the end of a country road. The road was, sadly, a dumping place for stray animals. Much to some’s disappointment, she provided food and shelter and ultimately a home to many of the dumpees. She had an uncanny ability to teach dogs and cats to do weird things, like suck a pacifier if they needed comfort, or to seemingly carry on a full-scale impassioned conversation when they had a need to communicate.
Patty was born wild and crazy and never outgrew it. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had a unique way of expressing herself with witty catch phrases full of wisdom and humor, that were surely later stolen by comedians, the media, sign makers and at least one President. Pat was giving and compassionate, loved her family to distraction, and sometimes beyond. She was never boring and friends counted themselves lucky to be in her good graces.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Wayne Sanderson, mother Winnie Jane Littleton, father Sylvester Clark, brothers Kenn Clark, Jimmy “Jake” Clark, and Gary Clark.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina Vernon (Eugene) of Pioneer, LA, and Debby (Johnson) Dickson (Glenn) of Onalaska, TX. She is also survived by her sister Susie Clark Armstrong (Blount) of Doctors Inlet, FL, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews who appreciated her creative and unconventional methods when it came to entertainment.
Patricia Anne will be missed and mourned by some. But, for some, her memory will also bring smiles and the kind of laughter that makes one snort because of her unusual sense of humor, sometimes at inappropriate times.
A special memorial will be held at a later time to celebrate the life of this truly distinctive person we called Momma, Sis, Mammaw, Pat and Patty.
