Funeral services for Mr. Randolph Lee Coates, 72, of Monroe, LA will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 2, 2011 at North Monroe Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Dye officiating. There will be a private family interment at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Coates passed away Friday, December 31, 2011. He was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and the Friends and Followers Sunday School Class. He worked for Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, and was the Operations Manager for LA Gas Purchasing, followed by twenty years in gas compression sales. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing, duck hunting, and tennis.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Bennett Coates and Elby Ray Coates.
Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Lillian Price Coates; two children, Michael Ray Coates and wife Lorraine of Lafayette, LA, Mark Lane Coates of Ruston, LA; and stepson, Brian Price and wife Sandi of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Jason Coates and Janna Coates; step grandchildren, Anna Price and Erin Price.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, January 2, 2011 at North Monroe Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church Building Fund.
