Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Raymond D. McVay, will be 12:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe with Fr. John Paul Crispin officiating.

Raymond D. McVay passed away on October 2, 2022, at the age of 79, with his family by his side in Monroe, Louisiana.  Mr. McVay was born on November 24, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Dan and Dessie (Woods) McVay.

Raymond worked for over 20 years in management at A&P (The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company). He was full of life—his hobbies and interests included family, maintaining his beautifully landscaped yard, playing golf and tennis, along with watching his beloved New Orleans Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Gonzales) McVay; two daughters and their spouses, Debbie (McVay) and John Rappold, Paula (McVay) and Dell Hobbs; son, Paul McVay and his spouse, Carmetta Spillers; and four grandchildren, Michael & his spouse, Amanda Rappold, Ethan Rappold, Lauren Rappold and Cameron Fitzgibbon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Dessie (Woods) McVay.

Pallbearers will be Michael Woods, Dr. Scotty Hicks, Steve Woods, Jason Hunt, Garland (Poncho) Hendricks and Edward Carroll.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:30AM Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
