Rev. Robert Lee Chason
Funeral services for Rev. Robert Lee Chason, 77, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at First Church of The Nazarene of West Monroe, with Chaplain Shelly Scallions and Rev. Larry Mudgett officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Rev. Chason died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Francis North Medical Center. He was a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN and served as a Chaplain at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Rev. Chason was an ordained elder in the Church of The Nazarene. He was recognized as a Kentucky Colonel for his work in prison ministries.
Rev. Chason was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Susie Chason.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mozelle Chason; sons, Steve Chason of Dayton, TX, Dan Chason and wife Michele of Rayville, LA; daughter, Susan Taylor and husband Bo of Monroe, LA; Eight Grandchildren; Seven Great Grandchildren; brothers, John D. Chason and wife Sue, Mike Chason; sisters, Betty Rackley and husband Dale, Alice Chason; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andy Chason, Jon Miller, Mikey Garoby, Casey Barton, Charles Paxton, and Bo Taylor.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Global Treasury Services Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 843116, Kansas City, MO 64184-3116.
