Ms. Robbi Hicks Thompson, a retired social worker, born January 1, 1947 in Downsville, LA passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Murl Hicks; and by her sister, Sandra Elaine Hicks.
Survivors include her sister, Charlotte Hoyt and husband Don; niece Brandi, husband Buckshot, and great-nephews Michael and Beaux Benson; her brother George Hicks, wife Leann, and nephews Clay and Cole Hicks; daughter Sarah Thompson Coke and husband David; and grandchildren Lilly Grace Dollar and Brian and Jacob Coke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christa Matheny, Shelia Nettles, Deborah Nolan, and Jean Ann Taylor.
Robbi spent 40 years working as a social worker, most recently as a School Social Worker for Monroe City Schools. She was named “Regional School Social Worker of the Year” by the National Association of Social Workers in 2009. Robbi was also a lifetime member of the DAR.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 3706 Bon Aire Dr., Monroe, with Rev. Dawnell Stodghill officiating.
