Funeral services for Robert Lewis Patterson, 59, of Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 25, 2008, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Ray Owens and Rev. John Yates officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy 80, Monroe, LA.

Robert was born January 3, 1949 and passed away on the morning of September 22, 2008 in Lafourche Parish.

Robert was a 1967 graduate of Neville High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS prior to joining the United States Air Force in February, 1968. He served a three-year hitch in the service prior to returning for a one-year term in Vietnam. He was discharged in February, 1972.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Fred Patterson of Columbia, LA.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Marie Patterson; two daughters, Robin Edgeworth and Ronda Kinison and husband Ray; four sons, Raymond Patterson, Rodney Patterson, Eddie Ray Sonnier and wife Lesli, and Robert Patterson II and wife Brooke. Paw-Paw had twelve grandchildren, Ashley and Hunter Edgeworth, Brittany Patterson, Robert Patterson III, Matthew Trichel, Raymond Patterson II, Jessica Patterson, Robbie Patterson, Melissa Patterson, Daniel Maylum, T J Sonnier, and Paul David Sonnier. He is also survived by his mother, Ruby Patterson; two brothers, and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Ashley Edgeworth, Rusty Patterson, David Patterson, Jimmy Barnes, Joe Danna, L.D. Smith, Kenny Hernandez, and Jimmy Holyfield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Fowler, Justin Fortenberry, Wayland Durr, Jason Barnett, Andre St. Pierre, and Tyler Fowler.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 24, 2008, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.
