Ted Freeland officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.Ron was born October 28, 1941 in Winn Parish, LA and passed away February 11, 2015 in West Monroe, LA after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. He exemplified the cowboy spirit with his love of all things western. He was preceded in death by his father, Alon Durbin; and nephew, Darrell Smiley.Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sandra Durbin; daughters, Maggie Durbin Acree and husband Mitchell, and Katie Durbin Womack and husband Matt; grandchildren, Hayes Acree, Maddie Jane Acree, Lyla Belle Womack, and Durbin Matthew Womack; mother, Mary Catherine Hager; sister, Mary Smiley and husband Alvin; mother-in-law, Claudene Brumley; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Friday in the Mausoleum Chapel at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 3510 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291.
